Mower string maintenance
Want to change your mowing string and wondering which is the best string to use and wind on your mower?
As a rule of thumb: the taller and thicker the grass, the thicker the string should be.
For better identification and orientation, mowing strings come in different colors, each representing a certain diameter.
For example, burgundy red mowing strings always have a diameter of 3 millimeters.

However: the thicker the string, the more power is needed to achieve a clean cut.
To understand which mowing string is right for you, you should therefore also consider the right mowing heads and lawn trimmers and motor mowers.
When working, the motor mower must provide the necessary speed to keep the string in a straight, straight position.
This ensures efficient cutting with minimal string loss.

Preparing mowing twine for winding and storing it correctly :

A hint on the correct storage and optimal preparation of your mowing thread.
We recommend soaking (moisturizing) your mowing thread in water for 24 hours before use.
Mowing threads lose their moisture and elasticity over time.
By soaking in water, they regain both of these characteristics and do not wear out as much.

By the way, you don’t have to unwind the thread for this: you can insert the spool together with the coiled tinned thread directly into the water.

Thanks to this procedure, you don’t even have to worry about storing your thread.
